Locast app is free and legal. Hope this helps some users we have in these areas.
The following 6 markets (including suburbs) can get local TV via the internet. I have it running on Roku.
Denver, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, and New York markets
In Houston, I get the following:
- ABC
- CBS
- NBC
- Fox
- CW
- PBS
- My20
- Ion
- Multiple Spanish channels
Not a bad free line up! Keep in mind these channels have free VOD apps as well if you miss a live show.
My OTA reception is rough. I'm between 2 towers, but close to neither. Also, no cabling, antenna, or converter boxes needed. Many "TVs" sold now are really monitors (no tuner).
I currently use PSVue which includes locals in Houston. I mainly sub to this due to NCAA football. Outside of football season, I might drop Vue to use Locast, a la carte VOD apps, & Netflix.
