Still don't know why I forgot Ukyo's name. I really loved that character on Ranma

Now I haven't watched Slayers myself... but maybe it's pretty comparable to El Hazard since it looks like it, heh. 90's fantasy fun. Definitely plan to get around to some Slayers myself someday.

Slayers is one of my favorites series of all time... although I preferred the OVAs/Movies over the original show. For some reason I enjoyed the duo dynamics of Lina and Naga more than the whole cast together - even if Naga was incredibly annoying.

But yeah, gotta watch more of Revolution. I saw some at AWA a few years back, and it was amazing.

Another anime I saw at AWA and never watched again yet definitely need to... Detroit Metal City.

Angel Beats is another fantastic show. It's got a really beautiful opening theme and the setting is pretty unique. Everyone is dead and the afterlife is apparently a high school. There's a lot of gunplay and some fantastic animation. And then stuff happens that I can't tell you about cause it'd be MASSIVE spoilers.

Well, Kasumi is Akane's oldest sister, so I assumed that was who you meant anyway.

There's also TK. TK is worth watching the show for alone.

How many people here are Yuasa fans (Mind Game, Kemonozume, Kaiba, Tatami Galaxy)? I love his art style and how generally weird everything he does is.

Unfortunately I haven't heard of Yuasa or any of those anime.

Recently I dropped Kasimasi because it was just infuriating. It was like every anime comedy cliche you can think of forced into what was suppose to be a romance.

Also I started watching the 6 episode long Kiss X Sis OVA. Even though it's not particularly good I'm already 4 episodes in so I'm gonna finish it for the hell of it. Once again I thought it was gonna be a romance anime and yet it turns out to be... well, it tries really hard to do everything it can to be like a hentai porno without actually being pornographic. Problem is I've heard the non-OVA version of the show is a lot less raunchy so I'm wondering if maybe it would be worth watching when I do finish the OVA. Ugh...

Xeogred, I want you to know that because of your recommendation, I started reading Touch last night.

I read 92 chapters (something like +1400 pages) before I called it quits for the night.

Its good stuff, so thanks for the rec, but at the same time, you know, screw you. I blame you for my lack of self control.

Thankfully I didn't have work or classes today, just house and yard work, which I did in the afternoon.

Seriously though, I'm really enjoying it. I'll show it to my wife too. She generally devours anything involving baseball. Thanks!

Hah!!! Glad you're liking it. I actually haven't read it myself but let's just say, the anime was that addicting as well. I remember blasting through 10+ episodes on some days back to back quite a bit, easily finished it in like 2-3 weeks (101 episodes!). What's going on where you're at now?

Tatsuya is probably one of the most inspirational characters I've ever seen in a series, just blew me away. In some ways (anime wise at least here) I felt that Touch was a bit more mature than Maison. I liked how when drama came up in Touch, they typically delt with it THAT episode, so nothing ever piled up as much as Maison. That said Maison was a bit more emotional for me in the end, but yeah. Touch was very mature and its subtle approach to character development was very realistic and amazing to me.

Hard to find some good tracks on youtube since it's a bit more obscure than Maison and the likes (plus spoilers everywhere I'm sure), but yeah... man was the OST killer stuff and fit so well it was crazy.

The same author Adachi did the newer baseball series Cross Game too, which I've heard is pretty good as well. Gonna hit that one up sometime myself.
