For me, that was one of the most overly-complicated messes of a story I've ever seen in comics. I didn't like it. Both Crisis on Infinite Earths and Infinite Crisis were much better Crisis stories, IMO. It made me sad because I absolutely LOVED Morrison's JLA run and X-Men run.

I pretty much place most of the FC love I have on Superman Beyond and the monitor-related plot. There's simply too much impenetrable minutiae when it comes to the Fourth World stuff. I'm sure it's cool, but damn.

I probably would put Infinite Crisis if I didn't like Superman Beyond so much. I just thought SB was neat as hell. *shrug*

I think everyone, comic book fan or not, should read Y:The Last Man. There's been talk of a movie, but I think it would work so much better as a tv series.

In terms of what? There are so many ways I could answer this question but what are you looking for exactly. I have approimately 400 TPB's/HC's in my collection and have read/traded/sold just as many.

I'll answer the questions at some point though I don't think I can nail most of them down to a single answer. Comics are my first collecting joy and have been since I started reading in the early 80's.

Oh, I thought of just talking about American comics but the question about the publisher has made me also include manga I guess!

What is your favorite comic series of all-time?

I'm simple. X-Men. (Uncanny X-Men, and Age of Apocalypse <-original, House of M)

Japanese-wise... I'd have to say MARS, Paradise Kiss, NANA, ....I don't know to be honest. Those ones are just high on my list I guess!

What is your favorite currently running comic?

I'm not sure cuz I haven't kept up-to-date with comics as of late. I've just been reading old series here & there, catching up I guess?

Japanese-wise... I'm currently reading Papillon hana to chou which is very good..

Who is your favorite comic publisher (Marvel, DC, Image, Dark Horse, Vertigo, IDW, TokyoPop, Viz, etc.)?

Marvel.

Japanese..don't know...

What was your favorite comic storyline/Crossover Event?

I didn't know AoA could count, but that for sure then! ..Civil War and Kingdom Come were good.

Who is your favorite hero/protaganist?

Gambit. XP But I love a lot of X-Men characters

Who is your favorite villain?

I can't think of any. Can I say White queen or something? *lol*

Who is your favorite comic writer?

call me horrible, but I don't really pay attention to who the writer is.. (for American comics -I guess I should huh...)

Japanese: Yumi Tamura, Fuyumi Soryo, Mitsukazu Mihara, Ai Yazawa, ....

Who is your favorite comic artist?

*see above

I thought Y was above average and I know many who didn't care for it so I couldn't recommend it to everyone.
100 Bullets on the other hand was pure brilliance. Great series I would recommend to almost anyone.

The Comic Fanboy Questionnaire:

What is your favorite comic series of all-time?

Even though Brand New Day kinda screwed things up and there are constantly other series at different times that appeal more to me, my favorite will always be the amazing spider-man. For some reason, I can always just pick up a spider-man comic and, no matter how stupid the situations are, still get a kick out of it. After Brand New Day, it almost feels like a guilty pleasure though.

What is your favorite currently running comic?

I know people either love it or hate it, but I really liked Morrison's run on Batman. Some truly mind-bending ideas and an almost perfect characterization of the dark knight as the man prepared to take on absolutely anything.

Bruce Wayne: But that's the thing about Batman. Batman thinks of everything. Obvious variations aside, there's only one human body. 206 bones, five majors organs 60,000 miles of blood vessels. All it takes is time. Days. Months. Years, spent memorizing the finite ways there are to hurt and break a man. Preparing for all of them. I've escaped from every conceivable death trap. Ten times. A dozen times. I can slow my breathing and metabolism to control panic and conserve air. Straitjacket's kindergarten. Locks, too. Benchpressing a coffin lid through 600 lbs of loose soil that's filling your mouth, crushing your lungs flat and shredding your dehydrated muscles? That's harder. But far from impossible.

Other than that, The Walking Dead, Invincible, the Boys, Dead Pool, Superman, the Fantastic Four, the Flash, Green Lantern, Daredevil, the Incredible Hulk, What If?, New Avengers, Thor and Iron Man.

Who is your favorite comic publisher (Marvel, DC, Image, Dark Horse, Vertigo, IDW, TokyoPop, Viz, etc.)?

DC, but AVATAR is becoming a favorite of mine.

What was your favorite comic storyline/Crossover Event?

Superman Red Son was a really creative take on Superman. The endings awesome and thats hard for me to say, considering i generally dislike mark millar.
As far as crossovers go, can you count Marvel's Planet X? If so, THAT. Its the closest that Marvel has ever gotten to DC style story telling, being a huge cohesive story, attempting to explain everything in the marvel universe at once, from captain america to the celestials. Seven Soldiers from DC was really a good crossover also. I really liked Blackest Night also. It reminded me of DC's take on Marvel Zombies.

There are also a ton of minis I love, like Marvel Zombies, Black Summer, the Nightly News, Pax Romana, Crossed, and New Universal. I really wish theyd keep making New Universal... :(

Who is your favorite hero/protaganist?

Gotta love me some Batman.
The Sentry is a good one, also, even though he's more anti-hero than anything but, he means well.

Who is your favorite villain?

Doctor Doom is always a favorite. Norman Osborn got pretty good on thunderbolts and during the dark avengers stuff. Magneto is also a good villain but he's not really a bad guy either. Bullseye and the Joker are also great straight up crazy guys.

Who is your favorite comic writer?

Kind of a tie between Warren Ellis and Johnathan Hickman at the moment. Grant Morrison, Geoff Johns, Garth Ennis and Robert Kirkman are kickin ass right now also.

Who is your favorite comic artist?

Never really had a favorite artist, as long as the art wasnt bad. I guess i really enjoy Frank Quietly and Juan Jose Ryp. Alex Ross and his life model super hero portrait styles are pretty amazing as well. Im just not that big a fan of the golden age and that seems to be how he likes to do his art.

My favorite comic artist to make FUN of is Rob Liefeld, but i think that applies to everyone who reads comics...I hope?

I also liked how Darkseid took out Orion and the miracle machine. Some truly insane stuff in that Crisis event and I really like Morrison, but it was still a really hard to follow crossover. Not even the slightest bit mainstream accessible, which is kind of a pre-requisite for crisis events, unfortunately.

Much as I like to poke fun at IGN sometimes, they recommend a lot of good stuff(including 100 Bullets and a few other things mentioned in this topic) here:
http://comics.ign.com/articles/646/646012p1.html

Also, if you're looking for good trades or graphic novels in general and not just superhero stuff, I've found great recommendations for things I'd never even heard of at Whitney Matheson's blog Pop Candy blog here:

http://content.usatoday.com/communities/popcandy/index

It's a great blog for covering pop culture in general and if you check regularly she'll throw up graphic novel and trade paperback recommendations occasionally like this one:

Sorry to be so shallow in my post. I'm interested in the superhero's of DC and Marvel along with other one shot graphic novels. I was just trying to see if there's any specific story arcs out their that are worth reading and if they in collected issues so as I don't have to search high and low for single issue's. I already know some I'm interested in but haven't really gone out and buy them yet like Marvel Zombies, the Civil War story arc, and the Neil Gaiman Sandman series so those are out.
