I just cannot get into the death metal and black metal. Prog metal is about as hard as I can comfortably go. But some good multiple time signature prog epic does me lots of good.

I recently revisited King Diamond at work. 99% of the time no one really asks me about whatever I'm playing on my phone (I don't use earbuds). I also (most of the time) play cast recordings. My faves are RENT, Wicked, Spring Awakening, Carrie and The Wiz. Also '80s and '90s hits.

Haha 'sall good. What's your favorite kind of DM, Ack? I mainly listen to OSDM, which I guess is no surprise. Well, and death-doom, though that's really its own genre.

We probably discussed this like 8 years ago.

To be honest, I don't really think it's a particular subgenre that I gravitate towards, just specific bands. Death and Bolt Thrower are my favorites, though I'll also go listen to the likes of Amon Amarth, Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus, Fear Factory, and so forth. I've never really settled on a particular style the way I did for something like Crossover Thrash (which is my preferred Thrash subgenre). I'll also happily go listen to Grindcore bands like Terrorizer and Napalm Death.

And since you complained, I switched it up and am now listening to Obituary.

I'm mostly into '80s metal, mostly by way of my love for '80s horror films that heavily featured metal songs. By the way, Black Roses and Trick or Treat.

Hey now don't let me effect your decisions. Get back in there.
