Yeah, I think it's fair to say certain genres benefited more than others from the Sega CD. For a fan of those specific genres it must have been awesome.

nahh, Sega-CD is the best. Snatcher, Sonic CD, Lunar 2, Shining Force CD...those alone are worth the investment. some real gems on that format!

Currently I've been putting in a bit of time re-playing some of the games.
Popful Mail is just as quirky and fun as I remembered it to be.



Play those Sega CD games before it's too late, people!

The bad games to good games ratio is pretty far from most consoles (The NES is over 4000... games total...).
The games mentioned are especially shiny, but there are a fair few games that are worth a playthrough considering the price of the console to other specialized add ons. I've dismissed it twice before and given away 3 with libraries of games before finding out I missed out on a gem I never knew existed. Don't dismiss the library before giving it a thorough playthrough.

yeah, it sucks that the bubble clearly caught up with this scene a while back, it's not quite saturn levels but it's no longer fun to track down even US gems, for the most part.

fortunately, there's no copy protection!
