Re: Capcom Play System III
Right now there are three ways to play CPS3 games. I might have some of this wrong, but this should be the sparkle notes of CPS3. The first is to use the original security cart and load the game that came with it. This is how it comes stock. To switch to a different game, you need that games securit...

Re: Connecting a SEGA Saturn to an HDTV
A word of caution a lot of flat panel HDTVS do not like 240p over component, which will result in a blank screen or massive flickering.

Re: Looking for comments on CRT monitors/TVs for news story
* Why CRT is superior to LCD for retro gaming? Standard Definition CRT's are superior to flat panel high definition tvs (plasma, lcd, dlp, and HD CRT) is that they don't have a fixed resolution. Their highest resolution is dependent upon the maximum horizontal frequency. Not only do these flat pane...

Re: Is my cartridge bad?
Just use rubbing alcohol/electrical contact cleaner to clean the contacts. Mixing the alcohol with water is only reducing the effectiveness of the cleaning solution and giving more potential to corrode/rust your contacts. Do you have a gamebit by chance? That is really the only way to clean contacts...

Re: Atari Jaguar or Neo Geo CD?
I would go with a MVS board consolized, more commonly called a CMVS.
The CD games not only have long load times, but animation frames are cut on the fighting games and the like.
But you do get arranged sound on games.

No offense, but paying $800 for cart only of Flinstones 2 is not something to brag about. It is buyers like you who want everything now that enable these crazy prices.
This shit is turning into Earthbound status.

If these suggestions don't work, I still wouldn't throw it out. 37" NEC Multi-sync xp-37 plus are pretty hard to find.
I would go on the avs forums

specifically the member neccrttv
He has fixed a lot of CRTs and might know what is wrong with this one.
best of luck

Found a Toploader at goodwill for like $4. No AC adapter or RF unit, but I have extra of those (Genesis model 1 works as a power supply)

Re: Nintendo Consoles Causing Video Flicker on a Newer CRT-T
I goggled RCA Truflat 240p and came up with someone stating they can't get their super nintendo to work either. It seems like you're not alone. TV just doesn't want to work with 240p signals, and it is a miracle it works with the PS1. I never cared much for the last generation CRTs (year 2000+). Alm...

Re: Snes component out with Jrock
Yeah, you can use an old VC game to see if your TV supports 240p. Have you considered a Frame Meister? It's going to look much better than anything your TV can do. m I agree. Some TVs when displaying 240p will flicker like mad. I know mine does that. Other TVs will display 240p but transparencies w...
