Re: Dark Cloud series
I'm about 15 hours into the first one. It's very repetative but it's quite charming and just fun to pick up and play. A few people I know praised Dark Cloud 2 who don't typically play rpgs, but I'll get on that once I'm done the first.

Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
I found out today that I may need to get my mouth wired shut because of a fracture along my cheek and jaw. That is not what ticked me off though. What ticked me off is the guy who accidentally caused it, didn't own up to his mistake and ran away. Whole Story: I was at the gym with a buddy. We had ju...

Ok I thought I was going crazy. The groupmember who uploaded it said he didn't hear it and I hadn't checked it again. One more thing to fix.

Re: Planning to Interview Retro Game Store
The style we were trying to go with was that the questions would be inherent in his responses. As it was our first time doing this, nothing really went as planned ahaha. It's very difficult to pull off what we wanted, so it definitely would have been better to have just recorded it as a dialogue bet...

Re: Planning to Interview Retro Game Store
So to anyone who cares, I finally got my groupmate to colour correct our final video. Sadly it's over corrected, so it's going to have to go back into backlog to get fixed. Till then this one will have to do.

Re: Are slippery stages good design?
I agree. They give a change of pace and change how you approach the game using the same mechanics. It also creates a lot of tension and other emotions because of that uncontrollable inertia. I both love and hate them. The reasons I despise them are what make me think they are good though. My inabili...

Re: Who Killed Videogames? (A Ghost Story)
Pretty insightful read. Also gave another perspective that answered some of my feelings about the need for "gamification". I agree that gamers are a huge resource of people with specific skills and work ethic. Namely persistant and problem solving. Jane Mcgonigal talks about this, but I fe...

Re: Bloody Roar 5 Announced
I'm a big fan of the series, but I thought 4 was a heaping pile of shit. The gamecube one was the best one to me. It looked the best, had the most diverse character roster, awesome multi tiered levels, and cool campaigns for each character. 4 reduced the levels to awful 10 foot squares with magical ...
