Re: Console of the Month (May 2022) - Turbografx/PC Engine

Well, I think I'll join in on all this Together Retro fun, if I may. I've had relatively little exposure to the PC Engine and would definitely like to fix that. I mean, I have a good idea of what's in the library but just haven't actually played all that much. Those that I have include Soldier Blade...

Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!

Unfortunately, I got rid of it before the whole deal about the capacitors was well known, I think. It probably left my possession by the early 2000s. I do still have some of the games and instruction booklets (in rather nice condition), though. Streets of Rage 2 was great on the handheld, and I real...

Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!

Sorry for the late reply. It's been a busy week. >< Nice to meet you all and thank you for the warm welcome! Nemoide - Yes, I enjoyed it a great deal! It does have plenty of bad games (and I owned a few of them) and the screen was a bit too blurry as I recall, but it was a joy to hold and play on. (...

Re: Dealing With Moldy Sega Genesis Model 1

Sorry to opa. I totally forgot to take the pictures. The short of it is... I have a working Sega Genesis! (The bad part is, I have a non-working Micomsoft XE-1 ST2 stick, which is what prompted me to pull out the Genny in the first place. But I'm returning it, so whatever.) Many thanks again to all ...

Re: Dealing With Moldy Sega Genesis Model 1

I've read that distilled white vinegar can take care of the mold on the plastic (though the ratio of water to vinegar I've found to range from 20:1 to no water at all) Sure, white vinegar could work. Although soap and water should also work fine. If you don't have a good sink or bathtub to do this ...

Dealing With Moldy Sega Genesis Model 1

So I had a Sega Genesis stored away and unfortunately it's covered in mold (through the insides as well). I've read that distilled white vinegar can take care of the mold on the plastic (though the ratio of water to vinegar I've found to range from 20:1 to no water at all), but I'm not sure how to d...

Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!

Hello, everyone! Here goes for an introduction... My gaming life started as a youngster in the 80's with the family Commodore 64. I loved that thing to bits, but eventually the Genesis came out and I was suddenly always visiting my neighbor's to play it, so I saved up for a Game Gear. It's the only ...
