I'm still unable to solve. It is the correct region and works fine in the emulator. I wonder if there's something about it that makes it harder to read and my laser is starting to go or something.

The 360 controller is the best thing I've come across so far as well. This new device may be the sign of something like this for USB. If all else fails one could modify it.
