I would caution against the use of Magic Eraser on textured carts. They would actually smooth out the surface of the FF III cart in addition to removing any marker.

I found this a couple of weeks ago and felt like bragging. The problem may lie with the small lip of the depresser (?) not being seated properly underneath the circuit board. I would suggest opening the machine back up and making sure everything is in its place.
