Re: What was the last movie you've seen?

Hey folks! I don't stop in here too often these days (though I do lurk on occasion), but I was recently thinking of this thread in relation to its role in helping me discover a lot of great movies over the years (perhaps because the "month of horror" is coming up ). It's great to see such ...

Re: NES vs Genesis 1989-1991, what did or would you choose?

...I started gaming w/an Atari 7800 and had to rely on family and friends to get my NES fix. When Christmas of '89 rolled around and my parents offered me a shot at a Genesis I jumped on it. I wasn't well versed on the NES games that weren't Mario and everything Sega was offering was light years be...

The late, great Gunstar Green

11062.jpg This afternoon I learned that Gunstar Green, a long time member of this community and a good friend to many of us here over the years, passed away earlier today following a long-term fight with a condition that he knew would likely one day take him young. He was 36. This is a sad day here...

Re: Any Synth-heads on Racketboy?

Hey! Great thread idea - it's cool seeing people getting into synth stuff. I'd dabbled a bit in electronic music making back in the early 2000s with some early sequencing and loop software, but didn't pick it up again until I started messing around with iPad synth emulation software about 8-9 years ...

Any common agreement in reviews as to which version runs the best? I'm leaning towards the PS4 or PC port...

Re: Racketboy Summer Games Challenge 2022!

Somewhere between filming a documentary, writing articles, doing home renovations, and enjoying the new pool, I will try my hardest to play through these ten bona-fide classics, none of which I've ever beaten. Kirby's Dream Land 3 - SNES* Akalabeth: World of Doom - PC Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II - P...

Re: Racketboy Summer Games Challenge 2022!

This year I will contribute more than snark to this thread. I will supply snark, too. I will be focusing on stuff I want to play through on original hardware, which gives me some fun newly acquired choices. My list will probably feature an 8 or 16 bit title or two, a PS1, PS2, and PS3 game, probably...

Re: Games Beaten 2022

In other words, it's a stylistic and cool game, but once you're through, there is little reason to go back. But man, when it's gotten its stride, and you're putting down corporate mercs with a gun shooting freaking lightning, it's a lot of fun. I enjoyed The Ascent immensely, even if it lacks stayi...

Re: Console of the Month (April 2022): XBox 360

Black - Said to be a spiritual successor to Black. I always thought it was just a port? Call of Duty 3 / 4 / MW2 COD 4 and MW2 are the two games, in my opinion, most responsible for the direction/evolution of the FPS genre during the 2010s. Both are phenomenal. As I understand it, the Wii ports of ...
