Re: CRT issue, what is it happening?
Yours is exaggerated, but I think every CRT does this to some degree near boarders of sharp contrast. If cabling & connection quality have been ruled out, that would make me wonder about TV contrast setting (too high), AGC setting and/or TV age (component wear). I think the "technical"...

Re: My monitor is dying!
What really burns is that I passed on a free Trinitron CRT monitor right before I discovered these issues. I figured "this is nice, but what will I do with it?" D'oh! My brother and I have 3 dead Trinitrons between us. They were awesome while they lasted. Unfortunately they seem prone to ...

Re: My monitor is dying!
I feel your pain! I went through 5 or so CRTs before LCD tech became affordable.
I love computer CRTs, but IME they don't hold up at all.

The price/availability is definitely better.
It's getting tough to find 9-pin serial ports on PCs these days, but I guess there are adapters for that situation too.

Re: ?s about N64 Memory Cards
I was actually kind of hoping this thread would be about memory card management. I need a good idea on how to keep up with all my saves. With over 100 games and only 4 memory cards, it is no easy task. haha I wouldn't recommend this to casual N64 fans, but you could hunt down an N64 "Adaptoid&...

I'm glad you're still making these beauties.
Have you built up a stock of the RGB PPU kits, or do you just order them each time the next commissioned project comes along?

Re: CRT TV Question
My late-model Trinitron definitely produces some of the crispest scanlines around for the low-rez stuff. The only downside is these tubes (Trinitrons in particular) are heavy as hell.
