Fantastic article, just the type of information that I have been looking for. My big question is this: how is the NeoGeo emulation on the Wii’s Virtual Console? I’m thinking download a VC game for $9 and buy a Wii SNK fighting Stick from Japan for $70 and I’m in cheap. However, is it the same gaming experience?

Well said on “rabid collector” – they always ruin everything and artificially jack up the prices of the various games, which is annoying and offensive even to the delicate senses of the higher strata of contemporary society – of which I humbly admit I am a member of.

The emphasis I would like to make is that there are also limits of reasonable acceptability when it comes to certain machine-made goods, and loose change should also be burned in the right way.

For example giving 10,000 US dollars to a dedicated charity or in some other meaningful causes is way better than mindlessly blowing it on a worthless touched and manhandled game that is people (those nerd “collectors” and “investors” alike) decide is “rare”.

Just get some cheap cab. The space issue is really overrated, unless you live in an actual closet. Just promise you will do the actual measuring before you give up, OK?
Get a MVS board 2-slot or 4-slot
and surf ebay for some steals.
Metal Slug X and World Heroes Perfect are cheap yet awesome games
Mark of the wolves is a little more expensive, but totally worth it. FORGET AES, FORGET CD, FORGET SUPERGUNS

Great stuff, but one thing didn’t transfer from the post in the forum. In the hack/mod section he mentions “the bottom one is made by Benheck” which doesn’t make sense because there is only one picture in that section of the article.

Great everywhere else though.

I’ve been looking at getting a MVS for quite awhile now. I see them on craigslist with games for $300-$500 usually, for the price of games, plus having a arcade cab to do other stuff with it’s really better to get that than a home system.
