The Power Base Converter is NOT compatible with any of the SG-1000 cards unfortunately. This is even the case with the Japanese version, the Mega Converter. It also only plays PSG sound. Personally, it may just be my nostalgia, but the SMS FM synth sounds pretty awful in practically everything, except maybe Ys. I greatly prefer the PSG.

Also, while the SMS may have had a greater number of "superior" ports, they're basically about games nobody cares about. I mean, great, the superior version of Captain Silver! The big stuff like Ninja Gaiden, Strider and Rygar were definitely better on the NES.

Racketboy, great article, greatest site.^^
I'm from Brazil and I had a SMS III, and it came with Sonic The Hedgehog on the console hardware. I bought mine in the early 90', maybe 94, I can't remember, but I now it was re-released several times around here, till that last one without cartridge slot, together with a re-release of GENESIS, Mega-Drive III around here, with 125 built-in games and without the cartridge slot too, and it costs about U$25 more.
