Well first I have to take exception with the claim that the SMS has better sound than the NES. The japanese system when equipped with the _optional_ fm sound board and with the small list of games that utilize it definately had fantastic sound at the time approaching 16 bit consoles in games like Double Dragon, Altered Beast or Phantasy Star. Unfortunately those of us in NA regions got the tinny 4 channel sound chip that just never sounds all that great at all. And I have a composite cable for my SMS connected to an audio system. Percussion sounds are horribly weak and fuzzy, and there is just no bottom end at all. The NES on the other hand had a 5 channel sound chip, a high quality RCA audio connection right on the console, and could do nice bottom end and good sampled percussion sounds. Super Mario 2 and Rollergames come to mind. Even the atari 2600 with its 2 channel sound had a much beefier sound chip. Asteroids, Space Invaders and Demon Attack have sounds and explosions that sound nice and full and clear on a good audio system. Heck even an original Gameboy when connected to an audio system has beefier and cleaner sound than the SMS does ;). All that aside, the SMS definately has better visuals and the arcade ports like Space Harrier and Golden Axe were surprisingly well done for the 8 bit era, and nobody can deny the graphic quality of Phantasy Star. And I don't know why people bash the 8 bit sonic games, they were graphical masterpieces for the 8 bit era (tinny sound notwithstanding). Psycho Fox? It looks nice in screenshots, but that's it. It's horrible to play, the jumping is TERRIBLE, and it really isn't THAT impressive when compared to oh say SMB3. And you really missed the boat with the 3d glasses. They were WAY more than 'ittle more than an electronic variation of the red/green or red/blue 3D spectacles'. They used high tech (for the time) LCD elements that shuttered rapidly to produce a convincing 3d effect...one that is only now being used in special passive 3d glasses in movie theaters.

The Sega Master System has the best versions of Batman Returns and Sonic Spinball! Way better than the 16 bit MD versions,8 bit versions have simple game control, while the 16 bit ones are very clunky and hard to control.Other good titles that were not mentioned above are Sagaia,Castle Of Illusion,Land Of Illusion,The Lucky Dime Caper,Deep Duck Trouble,Lemmings,Back To The Future Parts 2 and 3,Alien 3,The Terminator, Terminator 2,The Jungle Book,MK1,MK2,and Laser Ghost.Does anybody know what to do in the last stage of Laser Ghost? It seems to me that there's something wrong with that last stage, chapter 7 the final chapter! Please help.
