Hot Topics: Cool eBay Purchases, Game Genres, DC Zip Drive, & More

Quite often, I read comments from people that have been reading the articles on this site for quite a while (usually via RSS), but just recently realized there was quite an active forum here at racketboy.com

Because the forum is becoming and increasingly valuable part of the site and the members’ growth in their classic gaming experience, I want to start featuring forum posts that I thought were especially interesting. Not only will this bring some of our best conversations to readers that aren’t yet forum members, but it may remind established members of posts they forgot about or may have overlooked. I hope to do this possibly one Friday a month, if that’s alright with everyone. I’d love to get your feedback on this…

  • Games That Oppose Realism – Here’s another post that can get your game-theory-filled brain working again. The whole racketboy community has been trying to put their finger on what makes a game “unrealistic”. Is it just the art style? Or does realism depend on gameplay? Or is it other factors all together?
  • Street Fighter: The Later Years – If you haven’t watched this well-made series of videos, you are really missing out. The creative guys over at CollegeHumor.com did an excellent job of casting actors to portray everyone’s favorite fighters while providing some great inside jokes.

  3. Looks like a win-win situation for you RB. Its an efortless way to geneate content, community involvement and general site interest. I think that its a great idea because even people that aren’t registered on the forum/don’t want to can find out even more about retro gaming from other people’s opinions.

I need to respond to that realistic thread as well, been so busy.
