Gunstar Heroes and Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine Hit the Wii Virtual Console
It’s the moment that so many Treasure fans have been waiting for — the original Gunstar Heroes is actually available for purchase again on console outside of Japan. That’s right: the Sega Genesis classic, Gunstar Heroes will be one of the four titles added to the Wii’s Virtual Console today. (You can see the Japanese version running on the Virtual Console on this video)
In addition to the monumental Treasure game, Sega’s Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine will also be availible. MBM is essentially a re-branded version of the popular Puyo Puyo puzzle series. MBM is actually one of my favorite puzzlers of all time. However, unless you really prefer the Virtual Console setup, you might find it much more cost effective to get the Gamecube version of Sonic Mega Collection for your Wii.
Rounding up this week’s Virtual Console releases are one of the two Turbo-Grafix 16 games I mentioned the other day, Alien Crush and Ice Hockey from the NES.
