I have yet another games update for the Nintendo Wii’s Virtual Console.

Nintendo has updated their selection of availible Virtual Console games in the US to match up more with the target list for the end of 2006. The new highlights include Gunstar Heroes, Toe Jam & Earl, and Ristar from the Genesis.

The Japanese also have an expanded list with upcoming release dates. Highlights include the following cult classics:

• Gradius – NES
• Super Castlevania IV – SNES
• Contra III – SNES
• R-Type III – SNES
• Street Fighter 2 – SNES
• Fire Emblem – SNES
• Nectaris (Military Madness) – TG16

Time will tell if Wii owners in the US and other countries will be fortunate enough to have some of the treats the Japanese get to enjoy. It’s also cool to see Street Fighter II on there, but its a shame it won’t be the more arcade-accurate version that XBox Live Arcade is priviledged to.
