Microsoft continues its mean streak on the XBox Live Arcade. As if Street Fighter 2, Castevania: Symphony of the Night, Alien Hominid, and Castle Crashers wasn’t enought, Jeff Minter (of Tempest 2000 and Tempest 3000 fame) is now showing off his progress on an upcoming version of Tempest for the XBLA.

At first glance, it definately looks like it is maintaining its old-school feel while taking influences from an early XBLA success, Geometry Wars and Sega’s cult-classic, Rez.

There are a multitude of screenshots availible on his LiveJournal page to give you a better feel for the game.

So far, no other details have been announced.
