It's amazing that no one has made a brawler that was as awesome as the fighting segments in this series. I mean with the move set, fluidity of the moves, and great hit detection, all you would need to add is some two-player co-op, destructable environments, and some weapons and you would have the best stand-alone brawler ever made.

I haven't played (yet) Shenmue 2, but I'm not a big fan of the english dub on Shenmue 1.

Anyway, from what I've read, the next game will have the complete story, so I'm looking forward to that.

The PS3 is going to be reaaally expensive (even more here where I live), but if the pre-loaded Linux is any good, I'd buy one. As VF5 is going to be PS3 exclusive, I think that maybe Shenmue will be too...

Although surely it'll depend on the console's success, and the price ain't gonna help.

I really liked the English voices in Shenmue 1, but I haven't yet played the xbox version of Shenmue 2 to compare.

I thought the Japanese voicing was spectacular in the DC version of Shenmue 2, but from what I heard on the What's Shenmue demo - the Japanese voices on Shenmue 1 didn't impress me nearly as much as the second game did.

:D

I'm thinking piti is my alter-ego.

Everything he said, that's what I was gonna say. Except that I got a Dreamcast at launch, and I'm replaying Shenmue right now for the millionth time ;).

I'm playing Shenmue right now... I bought a Dreamcast a few months ago (used) so it's new to me.

I've decided that, should I get a next-gen console, it will be the one which gets the next Shenmue (*crosses fingers).
