Classic Gaming ROMs via Snail Mail
While broadboard Internet access is getting more common, sometimes it is still hard to try to track down a good library of classic ROMs without dealing with a huge hassle. So sometimes good ‘ol snail mail comes to the rescue to solve our problems. That’s right — sending a few DVDs through the mail is often quicker, cheaper, and easier than downloading 15GB of data over the Internet.
CanadianAccess.com is a disc burning service, dedicated to distributing MAME and other ROMS to anyone who wants them. The ROMs are free, The only costs are shipping, packaging materials, and blank discs. They are doing there part to keep these classic games alive for all to enjoy for ever.
You can find almost every system and system rom from your childhood memory and some from your not to distant memories. Play all the greats again, and with over 50+ systems and 60,000+ ROMs to pick from I’m sure you will find your lost memories all over again.
I’ve talked a number of times with the site’s owner and he is a great guy. I’ve also heard back from a few RetroGaming readers that have done business with him before and have been very satisfied. I would highly recommend the service.
Of course, let me remind you, if you do enjoy the ROMs you have, please purchase a copy of the game if it gets re-released on a newer console. This helps support the original developers, publishers, and lets the gaming companies we still want retro games!!!

Wow, what cheap prices. A bit shadey, though, wouldn’t it seem?
Shady in what way?
Aren’t these guys just begging to be sued out of existance?
dunno. Personally, I wouldn’t touch the stuff like GBA and maybe even Playstation as those are too recent…
I’ve seen lots of MAME burners in the past. That’s how I got my MAME set (which I need to update someday)
People shouldn’t break the law just because they think they’ll get away with it.
This is totally breaking some sort of law, at least in America….but where else can you get 3do games or Turbo-grafx-16 CD games? Its definitely tempting. If this is legal in Canada Im moving there.
Also, the Eggman has awesome prices and great service:

and try a related site for console related stuff:

(site is currently down)
I ordered a full emulation and console set from Eggman last year (everything but Xbox, PSX, GC, PS2, and PSP). It took a while but it was worth it. Only $1/disk and everything is complete. Now I need a Saturn modchip to play all these Saturn games!
I’ve done business with CanadianAccess and his service is top notch. I’ve also done business with a handful of other burners on the net. CanadianAccess has great sets and delivers quickly. Also a few of the roms were corrupted (as somtimes happens) and he offered to reburn those and send them to me. Extra effort on his part but definetly appreciated.
As far as the legal issues, it’s my understanding of the current law that what is illegal or legal is a gray area until an actual court case is heard and determined. Unfortunately it is like so many other copyright and IP issues: unknown legality until its too late for an unlucky soul. Also I’ve seen a peice out of the US Copyright Office that “seems” to allow sharing/burning/archiving of “old” games that are no longer published.
Also, just because an action is illegal doesn’t mean it is neccassarily wrong or immoral. If the games aren’t kept available they will die, fading away into obscurity.
http://www.CanadianAccess.com is closing down. This is what is listed on his site.
I will be shutting down the Disc Burning service shortly as I no longer have time to support it. This shut down will be permanent. All new requests will be filled on a first come first serve basis until I am out of supplies.
Just wanted to let people know before it’s too late.
