Play Advance Wars Against People Online
If you are stuck at work or online without the strategy game fix you crave so badly, you must check out this impressive project.
Advance Wars By Web is a popular remake of the acclaimed Advance Wars series, however, true to it’s name, you can now play it online. Against other people. Real people.
Advance Wars on the GBA brought 2D strategy games, pioneered by the likes of the Shining Force series, into a more inviting world for casual gamers. Now, you are able to play a clone of this classic series on your own web-connected computer. If you would like to read more about the original game, I suggest you read a review of Advance Wars by GameSpy.
On this web-based version, everything has been faithfully duplicated from the original game, from damage tables, characters, and units, with the exception of animations — the browser game is a little limited in that regard.
I am very impressed with how much the creator has crammed into this project and its site. It looks to be an interesting community as member create their own profiles and battle it out.
The bad news is, I can see Nintendo shutting this down. They are one company that is pretty serious about protecting it’s trademarks. (And you can’t blame them) If this ones does get taken down, there Battalion is a similar game online that is a little more subtle when it comes to copyright.
