The folks at 4ColorRebelion have uncovered a new game announcement and some screens for what might be the first revealed game for Nintendo’s Revolution — Raid Over The River.

While it might not have the look of a traditional Shmup, as you can see from the released screenshots, the expected Shmup gameplay looks like it might be there.

Apparently, the developer NIBRIS is actually developing this game on the PC since it doesn’t have an official Revolution dev kit yet.

According to Piotr Orlowski, the game’s project manager, NIBRIS “would like to do this game directly for Revolution and DS,” adding further that “only Nintendo platforms [will] get this game.” Responding to why Raid over the River would only come to Nintendo’s console rather than Xbox 360 or PS3, Orlowski stated, “Nintendo is our life. We have all of the Nintendo consoles; we are fans.”

It would be interesting to see if they would implement this with the Revolution controller’s motion detection. Could you imaging waving the controller around to move your aircraft back and forth?
