Cool Herders - Indie 2D on Dreamcast
The big-name developers might have given up on the Dreamcast, but the independant developers can’t ignore the system’s great capabilities and easy-to-publishablity.
Cool Herders first appeared as a demo on a Dreamcast homebrew CD distributed at e3 2004. Since then, the demo has been developed into a full game and is being released as a commercial Dreamcast game. Pre-orders are currently availible at the GOAT Store and Dream On Magazine .
The game consists of up to four players competing to collect more sheep than the others (often by stealing sheep from their opponents!). The course layout is reminicent of the Bomberman series and the gameplay looks to be frantic 2D action. The commercial release contains six characters and six worlds (in addition to unlockable material).
