The Magic Box has some screenshots of Taito’s new arcade vertical scrolling shooter Raiden III, the game will run on the Windows XP based Type-X arcade system. It is due out this Spring. Since it is on a XP-based system, I suppose it wouldn’t be too hard to bring it to the XBox if Taito so desired.

Even though many have called 2D shooters a dead genre, there are still some new games being released every so often. In addition to arcade systems, the Dreamcast, PC, PS2 and Gamecube are all getting shooter titles brought to their lineup.
