Nintendo Exec: “Customers Do Not Want Online Games”

In an recent interview, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata was quoted saying “customers do not want online games.” He mentioned, “At the moment, most customers do not wish to pay the extra money for connection to the Internet, and for some customers, connection procedures to the Internet are still not easy.”

For the most part I have to agree with him. While with some games it would be nice to have some Internet capabilities, I really do not want to have to pay extra to use them. I also do not like games that rely on online gaming to provide it’s gameplay. I would much rather have a good single player experience and/or have a good time gaming with a group of friends in my own house.

With the amount of people that either cheat or spend way to much time beefing up their skills, the online experience for the average gamer declines greatly.
