New Dreamcast Emulator Release
Wouldn’t it be great if everyone could play Jet Grind Radio on their PC? Chankast is an emulator for the Dreamcast system, it was the first Dreamcast emulator to run commercial games. This emulator is designed for Windows XP or 2003 it won’t work under Windows 9x or ME, and you’ll find some problems using it under Windows 2000.
If you were unaware, there is a new Dreamcast emulator out for the PC that actually works pretty well. It’s called Chankast and a new version 0.2a has been released. You can download it here.
Here’s are it’s new features:
- Improved stability, no more random crashes during gameplay
- Fixes to the GFX core for games such as Shenmue 1&2 and Soul Calibur
- Better compatibility, for example F355, Dead or Alive 2, Virtual On and many, many more
- Optimized code for even more speed
- Option to over- and underclock the SH4 CPU
- Completly re-done PAD configuration screen
- Added support for PAD plugins
- Added an option for cable selection
- Integrated Capcom hack into the other versions
- Re-worked menu and help file
So far, you need Dreamcast images to play on your PC as a regular CD or DVD drive can’t read the DC’s GD-ROM format.
