So I still haven't played The Day After games....
....but it looks like Total Eclipse actually predates those (when looking at original Japanese release dates) so I should be good to play that one first.

Total Eclipse takes place in Alaska a few months before Unlimited/Alternative whereas The Day After (obviously) takes place several years after Unlimited, so you're fine. Except that you haven't played TDA you WHORE.

For some people, death is too good. It's literally labeled "visual novel," and it's $40; why would you drop that kind of money on a game you've literally not even given a cursory glance?
