Even though it makes the deal much less attractive (+ $13).

Holy shit looks like July is almost over.

I'll be getting the August game first.

The story behind the July game, Forced, is pretty interesting...

Forced is a fun game, but gets super difficult in multiplayer.

I played a bit. Like it a lot so far. Like a mix between Lemmings and Tetris.

I love the packaging. And the size of the box too. Fits nicely on my shelves.

played much? I'm up to level 25. I don't really love it. But it's not bad.

Okay, got the "October" box the other day...
It's Brütal Legend.

Awesome packaging. Game is on a DVD this time, which is interesting. The game looks pretty cool based on some footage I've seen. I'll play it when I have a chance.

There are a couple of things that don't sit with me well though. First off, they announced the game weeks in advance. Kinda killed the whole "surprise" thing they had going.

Second, physical versions of this game already exist - albeit on consoles. Part of the allure of IndieBox is the creation of physical games that were previously digital only. I can walk into GameStop right now and buy a console edition for $6.

Third, I get that Double Fine is technically an "indie developer" but I have a hard time swallowing the idea that a game that features big-time actors and musicians as voice actors and has a console port published by freakin' Electronic Arts can be considered an "indie game." It doesn't fit with the rest of the IndieBox catalog and to be honest it's not the type of game I wished to receive from them.

With all that said, I only signed up for a three month membership, which has now expired. I got three pretty neat looking games that I look forward to playing in the future. However, I simply don't have the time, space, or money to buy and play a different mystery (maybe?) PC game every single month. Instead I will simply check the website periodically and purchase only those previously-released titles that interest me.

It's a great service and I will continue to support it, but I simply lack the need for a subscription.

So I sent an email to IndieBox last month requesting an account cancellation. They replied saying my account was cancelled.

Check my email just a second ago. "Your IndieBox has shipped!"

:?
