RPG games...

Post by newt42 »

We only play them for the plotline. Seriously though, imagine playing an rpg where the diolouge text was made of nothing but dots, the characters are all faceless squares and the whole enviornment was made up of two bland colors; yet it had the same gameplay concept as a common rpg.

Kind of sounds like Adventure for the 2600, a great game by the way. RPGs are way more than a plotline dude.

I'm not saying I don't like RPGs. I will admit to being more of a platformer person, but that doesn't mean I don't love RPGs. You're right though.

I always argued that story is the single most important aspect of videogames
gameplay is second

There has been this discussion before, and it was quite boring. Search the forum.

So go play some western RPGs--I'll be old hat and suggest Planescape: Torment. The game's like playing a book, there's so much dialogue. It's wonderful, and one of the finest games ever created.
