Another summer winding down
Ran the boat just a few times this year, trailer axles are holding up very well. It is a cold summer, weird for southern CA. The summer car show is a blast this year. I spent the last night of the car show continually cruising acting the kid again. Hey, is it a mid life crisis when you still own you High School car? A big grin whenever I romp on the pedal and listen to the 1.94 intakes suck in the air. No line lock cook the tires or street racing, that was for my younger wilder stupider days.
In the Dark
A couple of days ago we lost power, the big one that affected southern CA, parts of Arizona and Mexico. All of us were home already except for my daughter who was in college. It took her over three hours to get home from another part of the city. No traffic lights, plenty of heated drivers and a worried dad. The cell phone were working either. All electronics including computers, game consoles, TVs and oh god the Internet were down. The only thing working was a portable AM radio to keep up to date on the news.
A nice change sitting outside and enjoying company with the neighbors. Forced ourselves to consume mass quantities of ice cream for dinner. No distractions of technology with everyone in their own little world but actually talking to real people face to face. After sunset, another surprise. No city lights meant a nice clear dark sky full of stars! Broke out the telescope and got a great view of the moon, saw the craters in HDTV quality. The moon was so bright that I would see spots after looking thru the telescope.
Back to Normal?
The power finally was restored at three in the morning, only had to dump out one half jug of bad smelling milk. So here I am with all the technology distractions pounding away on these keys. Ah well, happy to be back to I guess normal.

Some pics from the car show this summer. Remember the Ninja Turtles DVD Player? I put it to use watching movies when not playing a game at the show.
The DVD Player even matches my radiator!

Another Car Show
Hey its October! Well Southern CA still has some Indian Summer days left.
There were extra cars this year, had to be parked right down the middle between the parking spaces. My '62 is buried amoungst some very nice cars, check out the chopped Orange Merc!

Re: CAR SHOW - Its Summer - Go outside already!
A bump of an old Thread. Car Show wound up early this year due to a reconstruction street project. Ah well, there is another show in October.
One thing nice about being Military is access to beaches on base to avoid the crowds. Got a rubber "dodgeball" which works great in the packed sand at the water's edge. Fun to get the wife wet, making the ball hit the water when the wave rolls in. Between boogie boarding and the ball, having a blast and getting exercise.

Its Summer, go outside already! 2013 Del Mar Game On Page 6
Going to the San Diego Del Mar Fair next week. Has anyone checked it out yet? Last day will be fourth of July. This is one way to get out in the sun and still maybe enjoy video games! Looking forward to some of the gaming history exhibits, all the Deep Fried Heart Attack food and rides to help throw them up!

Okay with this entrance gate, might be interesting!
Ah, Deep Fried Avocados! I'm going to miss the Fried Twinkies. Have yet to try the frog legs.

Re: Its Summer - Go outside already! 2013 Del Mar Game On
Hanging with my daughter all summer. I'll hit the beach up every now and then. Run a bunch of miles. Play some games late at night once the baby is in bed. Taking classes too. Should be a good summer knowing I don't have to go back to work in the fall!
Car Show Indian Summer Different Car Page 6
Well its not Summer any more but in Southern CA the Santa Ana winds sometimes makes it feel like Indian Summer. Anyways I picked up a car for my daughter after the MPV Van Of The Dead accident last year and have been doing some work on it. Still own my beloved 62, just have another toy to play with.
I'll start out with these pictures, sharp eyed car buffs should recognize what model and year car this is.
Now what is CRTGAMER up to?
