Awesome to see some Dreamcast stuff, VG_Addict!
Also, Syndicate, I've heard good things about KOF XV. The gameplay footage I've seen looks like a lotta fun. Enjoy the games!
Games Acquired 2022
Re: Games Acquired 2022
I love watching KOF XV matches online. So much more kinetic and interesting than SF V.

2022 Pick-ups:
Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike (DC)
Blue Stinger (DC)
Silent Hill 2 (PS2)
A bit late, but wanted to share my February pick-ups! This is the first month in a while I haven't shared a 16-bit game, but I was inspired to get some PS2 and Dreamcast stuff, with PS2 being RB's console of the month in February.
I have a lot of love for Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike and have played it mostly on the 360, but I also wanted to own the Dreamcast port, since I'm a fan of the console, and it gives me the opportunity to play the game on my CRT setup. Can't wait to play against some friends one night too. One of my few goals as a gamer is to get decent enough at this game, so that I can play and hold my own in 3S in arcades in the NYC area. My next step is to get one of my arcade sticks working on my Mac, and start playing against people on Fightcade 2.
Blue Stinger is a game I've been interested in for quite a while, as I enjoy survival horror titles, and this seemed to be like a campy B movie turned into a game, which is great, IMO. There was a good amount of discussion around the game last year with Pidge finishing the title, and I recall Blu mentioned he wanted to play through it again too. Unfortunately the first copy I bought this month seemed to have an issue with the disc, as I could not get past the boot up screen with it. But, I was able to return it and luckily the second copy I purchased works fine. Well Blu, maybe later in the year we can do a playthrough together, now that I finally have it!
Silent Hill 2 was a grail title for me, as one of my friends kept mentioning it was his favorite game all time. I grew up a fan of the Resident Evil series, and missed out on the Silent Hill games, so I'm working to correct that wrong. I'm looking forward to finally experiencing the series and this game in particular, so I can discuss it with my friend! I haven't picked up many PS2 games the past few years, but I'm hoping to add a few must-haves to my collection to get a better feel for the console.

2022 Pick-ups:
Phantasy Star II (GEN)
Ristar (GEN)
Omega Boost (PS1)
Metal Gear Solid (PS1)
Zombie Revenge (DC)
Just wanted to share my March pick-ups! Really excited for most of the games I was able to scoop this month, as some of them had eluded me for quite a while.
I'm a big fan of Phantasy Star IV, as I had played it as a rental when I was young, but I hadn't checked out the earlier games. One of my goals for collecting Sega stuff was to get all the early games, so with the pick-up of Phantasy Star II, I've acquired all the games on the Genesis. I'm aware the game isn't well regarded but I'd like to try to play through all 4 games at some point. Next up is to try to find a good condition copy of Phantasy Star for the Master System.
Ristar, admittedly, was a grail for me. I played it through emulation years ago, but I could never come across a complete copy in good shape. Either the manual, box, or cart label was banged up, or something was missing. I was pretty excited to find this copy and glad to have it in my collection. The graphics and music are pretty impressive for a 16-bit platformer, IMO. I've spent some time with it in recent weeks, but haven't finished it yet. Looking forward to beating this one and seeing the rest of the game!
Omega Boost is a curiosity for me, as I'm a fan of rail shooters, but wasn't aware of it back in the day. The controls are pretty intuitive and I've started to get used to them, but I do find the difficulty to be challenging a few levels in. Hoping to get better at this one so I see it all the way through!
Regarding MGS, I never owned it back in the day, but I used to play it when I was hanging out at my neighbor's house. He loved this game, and I used to watch him tackle the story mode. This is another title I found multiple times in poor condition, so I'm glad to have a clean copy. I completed the 10 VR training missions to get the hang of the controls, but gonna wait a few months before trying to finish it.
Zombie Revenge is another curiosity for me, as I wasn't aware of this game until a few years ago. I don't recall coming across it or hearing much about it back in the day, but I wish I had, as I'm a big fan of Sega beat 'em ups! I played through a good chunk of this one already and it's a lotta fun. Can't wait to play this co-op with a friend.

Latest acquisitions:
The Simpsons: Night of the Living Treehouse of Horror (GBC)
E.T. - The Extra-Terrestrial: Escape from Planet Earth (GBC)
A Rose in the Twilight (Vita - digitial)
I got two Game Boy Color games last weekend and decided to kick off April by getting one of the digital-only Vita games I don't have yet. I'm nervous about how much longer Sony's going to be supporting the store!

They're great stores! And J2Games.com is very close to their Springfield location and had even better prices and kind of shockingly good customer service, so be sure to hit them up while you're at it!
And I'm envious of that Ristar! That's one of the few games I need for my "every Sonic Team game on Sega hardware" collection!
