Other than apparently being gargantuan, what is the appeal of that DVD player?

Did you see NTSC/PAL on the front? Int a professional/commercial use DVD player.

I was thinking the same thing? Older DVD players suck, lack of Component, Not always region free, not always 50/60hz, cant always play backups.

Great Find, Laser nut myself too, See my Laser Disc Trivia signature link.

Curious also, found these links. DVD player looks like a Commercial one.
Mouse and RS232 connections. Dragons Lair laser players had that.

Commercial use of sync video signals use in TV studios to seamless video switch of two different players.
I think everything is digital now though, a collector item.

It enables your player to play blaxploitation films. You activate it by singing Isaac Hayes songs.
