Has anyone played Wizardry: Llylgamyn Saga for Saturn?
It's a remake of the first three Wizardry games and SUPPOSEDLY there's an option to turn most of the text to English. As someone who can maybe read kindergarten-level Japanese, I'm tempted to get a copy. I'm not familiar with its reputation: is it supposed to be good? Accurate to the original but with graphics and sounds?
I'd like to play the original Wizardry but my Apple II isn't hooked up.

I haven't played it. However, according to the HG101 article, the Super Famicom version is the one to play. It apparently brings in some small changes from Wizardry V, and has better exploring graphics. The Saturn version apparently updates it to some ugly-looking 3D, although the monster portraits may be the best of the bunch.
Basically, I'm downloading the Saturn version now to give it a shot.
All I really know about the games is that they're crazy difficult.

The first four Wizardry games are savagely hard, especially if played in original computer formats. Anyone playing one of those should expect the game to eat up the entire month. Proceed with caution.
Anyway, sometime on Tuesday the FPDC thread will officially go up.

Re: Together Retro - May
I played through the intro to the first church in Shining the Holy Ark today so I am ready for Tuesday.
On a side note when I went through my Saturn collection I was expecting to find a burned copy (mod chip is why I joined this site) and was surprised to find the real disc. I totally forgot I had the real disc for this game.

I'm planning to play a Wizardry title as one of my FPDCs for May. It's not one of those you mentioned though.

Cool. I preemptively got a head start playing a FPDC yesterday and today. I am legit excited for May's theme.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

Same here. I actually started Arcus the other day because I probably won't be able to get back to it for a bit. It's fairly intriguing so far. I've accumulated such lovable characters as a lady-knight with a serious drinking problem, a hobbit thief to do all my bitch-work for me, an old man with a stick, and a couple of elves. It's very Wizardry-esque, at a glance, but feels a lot more like a typical JRPG in execution. I'm looking forward to getting back to it, when I can.
