I sold half my collection around this time last year, and I still have a ton of games I haven't even played.

Resident Evil 3, actually made me jump.

So I am still working through my list I posted at the start of the month, but many of the games which require multiple lengthy sessions (e.g. the Silent Hill games) probably won't make the Sunday deadline.

Here's the status on what I originally posted.

done:
King of the Monsters (PS2/Arcade)
Haunted House (2600)
Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee

planning to finish by Sunday night:
Splaterhouse 2 (GEN)
Mutant League Football (GEN) (a run through the playoffs)
Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles (Wii)
Little Red Riding Hood Zombie BBQ (DS)

not this year :( :
Silent Hill 2 (PS2) - I put a few hours in, though.
Silent Hill: Origins (PS2)
Brutal Legend (PS3)
Ultimate Ghosts 'N Goblins (PSP) - put a few hours into this too, goddamn abomination of a game that it is
Alien vs. Predator (JAG)

So, now that we're down to the home stretch, anyone have some final goals?

I've played a lot of horror games this month and it's been great fun. I only managed to finish Amnesia: The Dark Descent. I don't think I'll be able to finish anything else before the month is out. I'm currently most into Dead Space and Phantasmagoria 2. We'll see how far I manage to get in the next few days.

I got to the third stage on the NES version, but got frustrated and quit. The infinite continues will probably influence me to play through it eventually though!

Tonight is Halloween!

Every year on the last Saturday of the October, the local strip mall sponsors a Halloween themed Car Show. Stupid rain yesterday, I was going to set up Dreamcast House of the Dead along with Lightguns and a Tube TV in the trunk. Weather cleared up too late, so just took the car.

My house is on the end of a small dead end street. We don't get that many Trick or Treaters and my kids outgrew going out. I'm going to drag that TV out tonight, and set it up in the back of the wife's 4runner. Maybe draw more of the little monsters in begging for candy. Should be fun, passing out candy while Lightgunning Zombies! A better atmosphere out in the dark

EDIT
Here are a couple pics. Glad I kept that spare TV, handy for transportable Lightgun games.

Well, tonight I have played:

Left 4 Dead 2: Zombies and witches. Doesn't get much more Halloween than that.

Sengoku Basara 3: Demonic Anti-Christ Nobunaga, plus more than a few characters who can raise the dead. Good enough.

Demon's Souls: Monsters and shit. C'mon.

Audiosurf: ... okay, not really Halloween-ish. I guess I could play some Thriller.

Well, the month is over. I didn't get as many games done as I had hoped, but I beat five horror games in the month so I can't complain.

finished:
King of the Monsters (PS2/Arcade)
Haunted House (2600)
Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee (Xbox)
Mutant League Football (GEN) (a run through the playoffs)
Little Red Riding Hood Zombie BBQ (DS)

still playing:
Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles (Wii)
Splatterhouse 2 (Gen)
Silent Hill 2 (PS2)

I am half way through RE:UC and Splatterhouse 2, and will probably finish them in the next few weeks. I need to just power through Silent Hill 2 in one or two long play sessions, which are hard to come by these days. Hopefully I'll get it finished before the year is out. I am ready to move onto some other kinds of games, though, at least for a while. My next goal is to finish one game for each console I own before the end of December, so I'll be working on those that I have neglected thus far!

Thanks to everyone who participated - it was a lot of fun!
