I’m taking it back.
How far back?
WAAAAY BACK!!!
...Atari Video Cube is a solid game. There, I said it. Any other solid second generation puzzle games I’m missing?

Oh man.. someone mentioned lumines so I GOTTA mention Meteos. Match game fighting gravity and the wait of other blocks to launch yourself off into space... great great great puzzle game

Baku Baku Animal is a real blast, and it slips under most folks' radar. For more action-puzzle, try Pang/Buster Bros..

Magical Drop II is my only "real" 1CC and it's actually fair and fun and not overly difficult.
The issue is Black Pierrot in III. It's literally impossible to beat and nobody has ever done so. The issue is not just that it beats you, it's that it's so fast that it will clear the Quota before you can send enough bubbles to kill him. The only way to beat Magical Drop III is to sandbag for half of the game for a low score and then play properly for he rest.
The Puzzle side of III is fair, but significantly harder while II is much closer to the mean. III is clearly more difficult than it should.
As far as action puzzlers go, I can subscribe Puzzle Bubble. Don't dimiss it, it's much better than it looks like and the original is far better than the mobile clones you see so around.
For non-action, try The Incredible Machine 2 (Or 3.0, same game but for Windows).
PD: If you haven't played Tetris The Grandmaster 2 and/or 3, you should!

While not a traditional puzzle game, I think the LoLo NES games are great. Another action puzzler.
I need to get more into this genre. I really enjoy the games (Baku, Poyu, etc).
Surprised no one has mentioned Tetrasphere on 64. That seems to have a cult following within fans of puzzlers.

You've got about 18 days to put money on the Wii Shop Channel and buy the 5 Art Style games which are on there. They're all fantastic, but Rotohex is my favourite by far.
There are also 7 of them available as DSiWare, which I think you can still download on the 3DS eShop.

Wow, hell of list. Only played like 4 on the whole list.
