Yeah, the new format sucks. Why does it make you type in a zip code every time you do a search??

I agree.

You spend 10 minutes finding the correct page, selecting the page, selecting the "check availability" button, wait for another page to load, and type in your zip code only to find out that it says you should call your local store to find out if the game is available.

:shock: ---> :x

...This makes absolutely no sense.

EDIT: Or it may not be working yet since it's a new format.

I don't ever go to that site, though.
Sometimes the Evil Empire has the best prices on used games.
Always good to shop around, a tool to help one decide, though now somewhat more tedious.

One Example.
Gamecube Phantasy Star $4.99 at Gamestop (An in stock long shot, may get lucky)

I did get results after three page loads, old way appeared on first page.
Perhaps no game available within fifty miles?

EDIT
I did get this Auto Reply. Hopefully a real person reads my suggestion in the OP.

Subject: Slow multiple page load discouraging sales.

Your new layout very unfriendly.

The old Gamestop page would load quick and remember my zipcode from previous
sessions. Handy to see local stores right away during a game search.

This new layout has too many pages of time consuming loads to find a
particular store. Plus if you click the zipcode box while the page is still
loading it kicks you back a page. Do I really need a whole country map to
slowly load every time I look for a new game? What a pain!

Bring back the old quick loading page with the original non-bloatware maps!

Thanks

I've done several page loads and I never have gotten the old page to load. However, I have gotten different stores to show up.

I think it's only showing stores that are carrying the item.

Example: A week ago I went into my closest local gamestop and asked if they had a ds rumble pak. They checked and they didn't have one but I asked them if they could get one shipped from another store to my local store. They did and I was able to pick it up the next day when it came in.

I just checked to see if it would give me my closest store if I searched for the pak. Well, the store didn't show up. So I think if it lists a store, they have the item.

Considering I rarely ever even go to GameStop, I don't really care about any changes their site makes. The only thing I even noticed was that the icons looked slightly different, maybe a little bigger.

So no, I don't have a problem against it.

I'm pretty annoyed at the amount of bloated flashy bullshit every site nowadays seems to think it needs myself.

I actually asked a worker at one in northern Illinois a couple months ago where the closest copies of any GCN PSO game was.

He said Ohio, then Georgia.

So good luck with finding one. :D

Are those the guaranteed prices tho? I seem to remember seeing PSO in GS awhile ago selling for $60. Pretty much every game I've ever wanted at a GS was either the same price or higher than online (which is why I'd only ever buy there when they had B2G1 sales). Now I only use their site when I want to list newer games on Craigslist, so I know how much I can get away with selling them for.
I have a ton of games listed at my store's site: Super Smash Video Games

Yes, price online is the price at the store.

Unless there is a flag on the search result stating price may not be the same in the stores. Only a few games have that posted. One is ICO which shows $39.99 and a price drop of $34.99. I think in this case, a caution that some stores have not incorporated the lower price change yet. But a simple "I'd like to speak to the manager" will pretty much guarantee selling product at the online price.

Example
Buzz controller listed as "Other PS2 Controller" - $7.99.
Online "Used Buzz Controller" price - 99 cents.
In my case, the store associate honored the different SKU 99 cents price.

But please, drop Gamestop a line at above link, maybe a few EMails may get rid of the new slow layout.
