Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
I need to visit GameStop this weekend..........
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
I can attest to this, I used to work at Blockbuster and found it amusing to put those on things that didn't need to be rewound.AppleQueso wrote:Blockbuster slapped the "be kind rewind" stickers on everything back in the day.

they do that because they have the magnetic security tags on them.Stark wrote:I can attest to this, I used to work at Blockbuster and found it amusing to put those on things that didn't need to be rewound.AppleQueso wrote:Blockbuster slapped the "be kind rewind" stickers on everything back in the day.

I think we had ones that just said Blockbuster and our local store address for that, but it's been a long while.aaron wrote:they do that because they have the magnetic security tags on them.Stark wrote:I can attest to this, I used to work at Blockbuster and found it amusing to put those on things that didn't need to be rewound.AppleQueso wrote:Blockbuster slapped the "be kind rewind" stickers on everything back in the day.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Went to Goodwill today and found this for $13. They had two and the first one I grabbed didn't have a controller. Luckily, I saw this one and it had a controller (S-Type).

I brought it home, plugged it in, and found a copy of Halo 2 in the disk drive. Too bad I already own the game. Luckily, I managed to get my TV working so I could test it and she runs like a champ.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
GBA Super Bust A Move- $5.00 BookOff
Nice portable version, the dpad of the GBA is not as good as a Spinner, but adequate.
GBA Iridon 3D - $1.08 BookOff
I had Iridin II for quite some time and have always passed up on this based on noise's and other members comments of mediocre gameplay but interesting 3d effect. Finally got the cart on the cheap, reminds me of PS1 N20 but without the "Tempest" spin affect.
Quarth - $3.00 Swap Meet
The ONLY OFFICIAL US RELEASE. Well other then on virtual console or a bootleg famicom NES cart. Nice Tetris SHMUP game, the ship rough movement is on purpose to indicate how many Tetris block spaces to the left or right to move. The Famicom is more colorful, but the GB version holds its own. Really a good game, buy it due to its exclusiveness and also a fun game to play.
Hudson Robot Ponkottsu Star and Sun - $10.00 Each BookOff
I bought both of these carts due to their size, see the picture for a size comparison to a GB cart at the bottom of this reply. A Pokemon style that includes an easily Removable Battery, Internal Speaker, Infra to detect another cart and a really cool feature; Any Infra device such as a TV or DVD remote can generate a random creature or power.
This is certainly different from the Music CD creature generators in other games. That speaker beeps even when the cart is not plugged in when it needs a "Tamagochi" baby sitting. Maybe as annoying a sound as a Dreamcast memory card with a dead battery?
I bought these not knowing that one of the large carts, the Sun version was released in the US. The games are basically unplayable unless one can read Japanese, debating on refunding these for some other games?
Where is noise, should I return these?
I already know about this Sphere Controller from seeing it on Crux's Controller Thread. This disc has been on the same table for two months teasing me to buy it. I really should pick up that Space Orb, the PS1 version, maybe the store I saw them in still has the CIB stack on the shelves?
PS2 8mb - PS2 Network Disc - PS2 and N64 Console Manuals - $6.00 Swap Meet
Bought the N64 Manual for a buck at one table, the rest for five from another seller. The memory card was a "bundle add on", I asked if I could include that with the PS2 documents bag along with the network disc. The manuals are great for referencing lost information such as PS2 DVD Parent password reset of 7444 and N64 recalibrating the analog stick by holding Start and the two triggers.
Note the large black Hudson Robopon carts, taller the a standard Gameboy grey cart.

Because only Sun was released in the USA, not all of the original 153 Robopon were available because the others were located on the Star Version that was never produced in the US. Robopon cartridges have an Infrared panel on their top edge that allows them to trade information using waves much like a TV or VCR remote, allowing the cartridge to react to different objects. For example, pointing a remote control at the cartridges and pressing a button might boost the Robopon's stats, or open a chest within the games.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Thrifting over the past week has been pretty good.

Everything in the picture along with the Hey You Pikachu Microphone, adapter, mic holder, and a green N64 controller (which are not pictured) was about $15.
Power Stone 2 for 99 cents! AHHHHHHH! The thrift store that had this game always puts all their games behind the counter, but I found this in the cd section out in the open. I guess they didn't know it was a game since there's no manual. Sonic Adventure 2 was behind the counter though.
Also took that gamestop advice posted on the last page. Thanks for that!

I have no knowledge of those, but if I had to venture I guess I'd lean towards bootleg.CRTGAMER wrote: Where is noise, should I return these?[/b]

Goodwill:
$20:
-PS2 Fat Console, Vertical Stand, DVD Remote & Sensor, 8MB Memory Card, Black Controller, Clear/Blue Controller, AC cord, AV cables, and official Component Cables!
-Power Joy (plays Famicom Games with the cartridge slot built-in), Cartridge, and the 2nd Player Controller (that plugs into the main controller on the bottom port)
-----------------------
Activision Anthology PS2: $1.50
Gallop Racer 2003: New Breed PS2: $1.50
Frogger's Adventures: The Rescue PS2: 1.50
Syphon Filter 2 (GH) PS1: $1.50
Pro Pinball Big Race USA (BL) PS1: $.75 cents
Atari Anniversary Edition Redux (BL) PS1: $.75 cents
Ape Escape (BL) PS1: $.75 cents
Star Trek Starfleet Academy (Complete) 32x: $1.50
NOTES: Already have a Power Joy so that's probably going on Ebay. Didn't have the DVD Remote/Sensor before so I'm keeping that, along with the component cables. Never had official ones, so that's cool. Surprised Star Trek and Ape Escape go for decent change still!
