So I'm in my first semester at University. For my minor (Film), I am taking History of Broadcasting. We have a final project. I will discuss in either a powerpoint or video, how video games evolved with/alongside/because of broadcasting.
A few things I thought to mention:
Stellaview - specifically SoundLink
Wiiu - how it is 2 of the 4 screens (TV and tablet not mobile or PC)
3DS & Vita - floating screen (tablets)
The evolution of FMVs
The medium of distribution - Carts, cards, CDs, DVDs, DLC, BRD
Advertisements and design appeal - SEGA (Nintendont) and box art
Sexualization
ESRB
Definition - usage of PC architecture to make the dedicated hardware better
Cross platforms - differences
From arcade to home
The evolution of video game sound - 8 bit, PCM, CD-WAVEform, chiptunes
Retro - respect for the oldies (much like LP records)
If there is anything you feel would fit in please let me know. Any sources of information or discussion.

I can't make heads or tails of this list/your post/idea. It could be useful if you posted the assignment...

Seems straightforward to me...
Re: Gaming- analogous to broadcasting

Have to say that I'm also at a loss of what broadcasting entails when it concerns games.
Looking for a cool game? Find it in my blog!

Re: Gaming- analogous to broadcasting
wouldn't it make sense to include more about broadcasting in your slides? How does something like "vinyl culture is akin to retro culture" have anything to do with broadcasting? How does chiptunes fit in? Why not talk about the TV ratings system alongside your slides on the ESRB, about the timing differences between HD console releases and the switch by TV stations to HD, etc.?
Sorry, I still don't "get" the assignment, what exactly your thesis is, or how well the presentation addresses either. Nice pictures, tough.
