23. Rapid Angels (PSN)
24. Catherine (PS3)
25. Let's Go Jungle! (arcade)
26. Super Puzzle Fighter II: For Matching Service (DC)

y'know it occurred to me that I also beat the PSN version of SPF2 this year but didn't put it in my list. I guess cuz I figured I beat the game often enough. I put the GBA version on my list last year. But oh well. It is what it is. I love Puzzle Fighter, and have a need to play through any version I can get my hands on. I actually liked the DC version more than the PSN version -- obviously the PSN version has really great online. BUT the DC version feels like the GBA version on a console. Hmm. I may prefer the DC to the PS1 version for that matter. Same reason. It just FEELS like the spritey GBA game I fell in love with. Well. I'm just rambling now.

The First 50 Games of the Year

The Stanley Parable - PC
Age of Zombies - PSMini (PSP)
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice For All - NDS
Star Wars Trilogy Arcade - Arcade
The Binding of Isaac - PC
Dead Island - PC

Games Completed: 56

Thoughts on Games:

This game could have been called FarCry 2: Zombie Edition, felt so similar to it. I was glad to have finished the game when I did, and I really had to push to finish it, I found it average on almost every level. If there is one blockbuster you can skip playing this year, it is Dead Island.

+ warioware.: mega party game$ (GCN) -- one thumb up
+ face raiders (3DSware) -- one thumb up
+ NEW chrono trigger (SNES) -- one thumb up
+ NEW contra III: the alien wars (SNES) -- one thumb up
+ NEW adventure (atari 2600) -- one thumb up

chrono trigger: finally finished this. i can see why this game has its fans, but it just didn't do much for me. i'm not a big fan of RPGs in general, though.

contra III: great expansion of the solid classic contra gameplay. great graphics and some cool additions such as climbing on rails. really don't see why they took out the 30-man cheat from the NA version, though. the bosses, particularly the ones at the end, require way too much memorization.

adventure: interesting to play this super early and historically significant classic. short, but enjoyable.

out of all the shmups i've played, i think gaiares is my favorite. music is awesome. also, it is one of those shmups that sends you back to a checkpoint after you die. i find this a good thing, because it makes learning the game much easier. for example, after you die you are sent right back into the same situation and you must figure it out or you will die again.

the second to last boss can be a bit tricky, but i finally figured out his patten and i might be able to 1cc this game.
if you took a shit, please put it back

I love this game too. The weapon stealing mechanic is awesome.

Firemen for SFC
Crash Bandicoot for PS1
Outrun SP for PSP
Raiden II for PS1
Kirby's Adventure for NES
After Burner: Black Falcon for PSP
Yoshi's Story for N64
Metroid Fusion for GBA
Little Big Planet for PSP
Street Fighter II Champion Edition for Arcade
Burnout Legends for PSP
Castlevania Chronicles for PS1
Eco Fighters for Arcade

Killzone: Liberation for PSP
King of Fighters '94 for Neo Geo
Donkey Kong Country II for SNES
Knights of the Round for Arcade
Super Mario Land for Gameboy
Jak & Daxter: The Precurson Legacy for PS2
Legend of Zelda for NES *new* I don't understand how Eiji Aonuma has not been able to complete this game. Once I found the Blue Ring the game was a breeze compared to other Zelda games. I did enjoy this quite a bit but I still have a penchant towards Link's Awakening when it comes to 2D Zelda games.

1/15 Dynamite Cop (DC)
2/4 Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (PS3)
5/19 Portal 2 - Single Player (PS3)
5/22 Ys I: Ancient Ys Vanished (PSP)
6/5 Castlevania: Lords of Shadow: Reverie (PS3)
6/28 Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X (PSP)
7/17 Golden Axe (PSN)
7/22 Red Dead Redemption (PS3)
7/31 Heavy Rain (PS3)
8/16 Jeanne d'Arc (PSP)
8/28 Halo 3 (360)
9/18 Altered Beast (PSN)
10/10 Ys II: Ancient Ys Vanished: The Final Chapter (PSP)

Man I loved Ys I & II. I can't believe I didn't play this when they were out the first time. I would have loved them. Just super fun and the PSP version feels really good. You can switch the music between a couple of the releases to see which one suits you, I personally liked the remastered one that came with the PSP version. This has an old school challenge to it, several bosses kicked my butt for a while till I got better, but I definitely recommend it.

OK another one of these questions:

I just beat Kill Bill Vol 1 for DC. It's one of those Beats Of Rage mods. And actually pretty awesome. Except it took me like 15 mins to beat, as apparently it's only 4 (really short) levels long. So... do I add that to games beaten list?
