Re: Together Retro: Deja Vu
KICKASS!
Naturally I'm playing the GBC port, which is probably the best of all of them. It's visually a lot better than the original and NES ports, and of course it has the bonus of the sequel.
Been looking super-forward to this month, because even though I have played Deja Vu in the past, this month my wife and I are going to try to play through the game together. Y'know? Old school two players sharing a controller back and forth and making decisions together sort of thing.

HG101's breakdown of the ports is must-read: http://hardcoregaming101.net/icom/icom.htm

BTW, there's still a Dark Forces reference in the article under "Discussion"

Looks like I'm playing on my computer - I forgot to make arrangements to get the real deal!
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
Re: Together Retro: Deja Vu
I bought the NES version a while back and had planned on that, but might decide to play the Windows port instead. I really don't like adventure games much to begin with, especially on consoles...

Nice! I've always been interested in Deja Vu but never actually sat down to play it for more than a few minutes (trying games out when bored at work, or on an emulator, always seems to cause me to be much too fickle for some reason haha). Will likely snag a copy of the Gameboy version and hopefully this time I can stick with it.

Bought the GBC version, will probably start playing this one tomorrow. Looking forward to it. I do like adventure games, but they need a sense of humour. I hope this game isn't too dry.
P.S Is it possible to die in this game, and are there any points where you can make an irreversible mistake and have to restart to beat the game.

1. It's not funny really.
2. Yes it's QUITE possible to die.
3. There's lots of irreversible points.
...we put in about an hour tonight. Got to a point that seems irreversible (ran out of money in the cab, can't pay to leave) but we saved, so will try to pick it up tomorrow.
