Just finished Toy Story 3 as well....It was a pretty hardcore nostalgia trip for me. I think I am going to go play with some of my old stuffed animals now....

Blood: The Last Vampire (live action) - This movie was only so-so. I am a big fan of the original anime and was pretty excited to see this. I expected that they would add more to the story in order to increase the length and couldn't wait to see what they added. The resulting film was a typical "director remaking a classic and changing everything around with the excuse that it was his artistic vision." Some things I don't mind, getting rid of the nurse from the original and adding Alice as a way to give a more human side to Saya. But then, getting rid of the huge warehouse battle, adding the battle in confusing dreamland from which Alice never returns for some reason, and adding that ahole character (Luke, I think) bothered me. Why get rid of the Red Shield as it was in the original? Perhaps the most annoying thing - and other films do this as well and it drives me freaking crazy... why change the names of main characters, namely David and Lewis?! Take away everything the original fans can relate to! Very disappointing. The effects were very bad too, but I can live with that as I am sure they had a limited budget to work with. The actress who played Saya was fantastic and her fight scenes were entertaining.

Karas: The Prophesy and The Revelation - I loved this movie(s). I understood it a lot more watching it this time around mainly because I realized there was a second part. Just watching the first can leave things very confusing. I understand this was actually a multipart anime series, which explains some of the scenes seemingly cutting off out of nowhere. I watched the English dubbed version and was pretty impressed with the voice acting. The action was great, the animation was great, but the plot was very confusing until the very end. I recommend a couple rewatches because it really is an awesome story once you catch on.

I just saw "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" in English. The VAs did a great job. No matter what language, I highly recommend this movie.

Ugh. I disagree. I haven't seen Alice, but with the possible exception of Big Fish, I don't think Burton has made a good movie since 1994's Ed Wood. I think he's extremely overrated, coasting on a rep he built in a 5-10 year period 15-20 years ago.
Suffered through Alice Tim Burton version last night. Bad acting, its like scene cut to this face say your crappy line with gobs of special effects makeup, then scene cut to next character and try to wow audience with another effect. The zombie dead imagery is a real metaphor to the dead acting and storyline. Boo, hiss don't waste your time.

The last remake with Martin Short as the Mad Hatter so much better, Peter Ustinov and Christopher Lloyd are fantastic! Miranda Richardson "Off with her head!" so unique. A TV movie better then the Theater release.

Last remake had great acting, some real great characters.

By the same token I'd wager that you're going to enjoy Summer Wars too. Some good anime fun!

The A-Team

Sure, it was dumb and wholly unrealistic. It was also ridiculously fun and entertaining. My friends and I laughed through most of the movie. Seriously, great popcorn flick, if you get what I mean.

Just watched the fly on netflix wii. I was surprised to see they have added some recent movies on there. They're streaming Law Abiding citizen and Up!

Anyway, I'm thinking about getting a blu-ray player so I can watch and stream HD stuff. Anybody have a good BD player that's quick and has built in netflix support for about $150?

looking at this one:

*also, I notice this one can view youtube videos. Not sure how much I'd use that for, but can you connect a usb keyboard to a bluray player for faster searching?
