COMPLETE GB/GBP/GBC/GBA NTSC-U SYSTEMS LIST (12/2/10)

by coastercrazy10 Wed Jun 16, 2010 7:28 pm

Hey guys, I recently took an interest in Nintendo's color variations of the N64, its controllers, and all of its handhelds pre-DS. I find it so cool that there are so many types of them out there and I'm looking into collecting them in order to find some direction for my own personal collection.

UPDATE 11/17/2010: After exhaustive research and eBaying, I've found a lot of information on consolecolors.com to be wrong. I haven't been able to find all the JP-ONLY game boys but since I'm not concerned with them it's no big deal. However, many colors that were listed for all regions are actually JP-ONLY, and there are a few colors that I still haven't been able to determine regions in which they were released. Here's the updated list.

You are probably just interested in collecting the NTSC-U consoles, but I will just mention some Japanese exclusives in case you wish to know.

How about the N64 DD? It's Japanese only though and still very expensive even now(despite being a failed add-on for N64). :D

There are also numerous Pokemon-center edition Gameboys/GBC/GBAs, and also the Mario variation, too.

Oh, and there is an orange Japanese Pikachu edition N64, too....

This site has everything there is to know about the 64, at least I think so.

http://finngamer.webs.com/nintendo64.htm

Everything you'll need is there. At least for the 64.
Collects promo gaming stuff, certain import games, hockey memorabilia, and other oddball things. (sig and avy under construction)

As far as the Gameboy Light systems...

In addition to the ones you list, I know of two Famitsu editions (one that was available via mail pre-order limited to 500 I think, one that was available at a Famitsu "event," limited to 5000). Both of those are clear or "skeleton." Additionally, there's a Famitsu Gameboy Pocket. There are also two Astro Boy artwork special editions (clear and clear red). There's also a limited edition yellow clear that was exclusive to Toys R Us in Japan. For all I know, those are the only "limited edition" Gameboy Lights.
YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS ARE DEAD. GAME OVER.

Not sure if you'd want it or not, but the Game Boy Micro wasn't on the list.
I think there was only one color variation for it.

EDIT: There were multiple faceplates you could put on it. Rather than having one GBM per faceplate, you could just have all the faceplates displayed near the Micro.
