Ok, I'm bumping this again. Magfest 9 is January 13 through 16 in Alexandria, VA. I'm going the 13th through 15th with a bunch of friends. I'm getting pumped again.

Nice, dude. Did you snag a room at the Hilton? I had to book at the overflow hotel... googlemaps says it's like 0.3 miles away so it shouldn't be too bad but it definitely would have been more convenient to just go upstairs to my room, haha
Oh, well. there's always next year..

I'm planning to pull all-nighters. (can you get four loko in VA? haha) I also can't wait to play my first candy cab! DDP Daifukkatsu is gonna be set up and I just 1cc'd it tonight so I'm pretty excited to check out the PCB

I'll be there Thursday night to Sunday afternoon. It's gonna be a blast, I can't wait.

It's gonna be a blast (all though we have no Blast Citys). As it stands righ now, Wedoca will have 11 candy cabs and a couple random woodys. Other folks will bring arcade gear like the classics and some Bemani. Due to space limits, my group will be upstairs where the registration was last year, outside the LAN room.

Yeah, I got a room at the Hilton. I booked it months ago. Its sucks, even 3 months out they only had smoking rooms when I booked. But I'd rather be able to go upstairs to crash like you said.

I only told the Hilton it was for one guest. Does anyone have any experience with having way more people in their room than they booked it for? I don't want to get in trouble.

Also, 4 Lokos is still legal in VA! I wonder if you can drink it in public at Magfest.

To answer both Q's...just don't be stupid. Going to cons (for me) always equals way more ppl in a room. Don't advertise if you're over 4 folks in a room. Hotel is booked solid, so it's not like they are losing money. As for drinking, the hotel is private property...they have a bar. I would recommend plastic cup or a thermos, but I've seen folks walk around in the past w/ bottles. The console room and LAN may have rules about food/drink for obvious reasons.

If you saw some long-haired, loud douchebag with a camera saying "Tainted Reality" a lot, that was my friend. I wish I got to go this year, but some other things got in the way... again.
