so I just got a raspberry pie and have opened my shmup world up quite a bit... I'm completely new to MAME so I haven't figured out how to keep my score up to get a picture... plus I'm pretty terrible but I just made a few runs and my bet was 1,100,000 range.

is there any trick to the scoring?

The best way to get a screenshot in MAME is to hit your Pause key (default key "P") and then hit F12 for the screenshot right after. That will get it.

As far as scoring, the threads on the Shmups forum here and here will be your best bet for figuring out scoring strategies.

I think this might be my best score. If I can manage to hit that 2nd extend then I might be able to make some decent headway into Stage 5...

Had two spare lives going into Stage 5 but made a complete hash of it. I think some save state practice may be required...

The enemies seem to have a lot more hit points in this stage, though. It seems to take longer to kill them than previous stages, so it's easy to get swamped by enemies, especially if you're not familiar with the stage...
