Bit busy at the minute - it's that time of year - so I'm not sure how much chance I'm going to get to improve on my scores.

I'm off back home tomorrow; won't have laptop or MAME, so hopefully the old DC at my parents' house is still in working order. If so, I might be able to get it out at some point over Christmas. Now, the next question is if there's still a copy of Gigawing at home...

Nice score chris. I haven't been able to play much (a few credits on the weekends), but I'm a bit disappointed neither of us were able to clear it. I think I'm going to keep playing, feel like all my good runs are still plagued by stupid deaths, which if eliminated I could possibly get to stage 7. Also, I might watch a replay to get some strategies for the stage 6 patterns.

Still debating on getting the CPS2 board

Gahhhh! Well done, Chempop. I'm thinking this game plagues everyone with stupid deaths... So many times I've have good runs going into stage 5 only to totally collapse. I love the game, but it's often so infuriating.

Maybe it's only me, but it seems Ruby is difficult to use well. Just curious, have you tried using Isha at all? It's a little weaker ship, yes, but I don't think by much. Plus I think it has an easier order for stages1-3. It's not a great scorer either, but we're not exactly lighting up the world here as is... Besides, I think I'm pacing a little ahead of you with this ship as I didn't last very long into stage 6 in my last score update. I think it may be an easier ship to use at our level (after the secret ship anyway). Or maybe I'm just too used to it by now. Just my 2¢.

I appreciate the advice. At this point I know that game so well with Ruby, the boss patterns, the stage layout, and most of all the precise timing of using her reflect I can't really switch to another character easily.

I finally got near the 10million mark for the multiplier. Even started stage 5 with 10T score once. I've hear the EOSB for stage 6 basically doubles your score... so a 1CC at our level might be around 50T or so.

Nice scores! As it turns out, the DC at my parents' house doesn't seem to be working and, in any case, there doesn't seem to be a copy of Gigawing here anyway (I must have sold it off ages ago). So it looks like I won't be able to post any more scores...

Interesting. Too bad my inner pessimist is resigned in believing I'll never 1cc this under normal conditions. Stage 7 is a possibility, but I've been thinking that for about 10 years now! Never stayed focused on it long enough... I should start paying more attention to my multiplier at stage ends instead of score. Don't think I've ever been near 10T score starting stage 5...Wow. Guess I'm not as ahead of your pace as I thought.
