oXbox, too. Which'll give me a reason to fire it up. I've been beating up the AI on various fighters for awhile; time for me to get back to shmuppin'.

I just started playing this on the Capcom Vol 1 for PS2. Are you supposed to be able to die a ton of times before the continue?

I still need to learn the game mechanics. There's a lot of info on your screen while playing.

//edit
...well it seems I was hitting the fire button so fast I didn't even notice the continue prompts. :oops: This game is pretty hard. I have not really shmuped for about about 2 months so I'm really rusty.

IIRC, there is no game over. However, you do lose all your points. I haven't had time for even a shmup lately, but hopefully next week my time will be freed up a bit. My gf and I love playing 2 player on this, and we might fire it up and submit some scores.

Yeah, seems to be unlimited continues. You get a game over if you let the counter run out and then enter your score.

Too bad I'm leaving for 6 weeks next week, o.p. Would've been fun to get together for some rounds of this game!

The score does reset if you continue, but extends are pretty generous (50K first then every 100K, and with every extra life you can also get a bomb and 5000 if you can grab the star moving across the screen)

Also, it was one of the first 2 player simultaneous shmups, not bad for 1985 right guys?

Ah, man, that sucks. I'm booked until Sunday, too, so unless you're free then, you'll have to come over when you get back. Good that you're getting outta the country, though!
