FIGHT WITH HONOR FOR HORROR!

Rules
-PSN only, unless both competitors really want to use Xbox Live. Note that you must be willing and able to play on PSN, as some folks don't have XBL.
    -Double Elimination format.
    -Turbo 3. No Auto Guard.
-All sets are 3/5. Match winner stays character locked, loser gets to re-pick. LOBBY MAKERS: PICK "MARATHON" MODE
-For convenience, matches may take place at any time between the posting of the bracket and Halloween. Use this thread to publicly organize your matches and post results, so we all know what's going on when and can spectate, if possible.
-Also, PM me your results so I can update the bracket quicker.
-Let's not dally too much. Three weeks should be enough for us to get to Grand Finals before Halloween, so I can send off the winnings in a timely manner. Which brings me to...

Prizes
-If you place high, you get free DVD movies from my extensive horror collection!
-1st Place gets a pick from Tier 1 or two picks from Tier 2.
-2nd Place gets a pick from Tier 2.
-If I win, all I ask is somebody make me something cool to put in my signature that denotes my godlike status at VSav.
-Whoever eliminates Mike gets a special bonus prize from the man himself.

break me down some logistics son. My PS3 hasn't been plugged in in months, but this could lead to motivation to do so.

Well, depending on people's schedules, we could either run it all in one night or people can spread their matches across multiple days and report the results to me. I trust we can all use the honor system here (yo ulll collusion).

I would organize the brackets randomly using one of the many online tools available for it. Results would be posted here in the thread.

Double elimination. Early sets would be either 2/3 or 3/5 depending on how many people we get. Finals would be 3/5 regardless. Grand finals would be 4/7.

First prize is a choice of one of my rare OOP horror DVDs. Second prize is a choice of a lower tier horror DVD. Third prize is you're fired.

If I win, you all have to refer to me as "Racketboy's God of VSav" for a year.

Obviously, this is PSN only, so we're all playing the same game. I know a good chunk of people here have it, so it's basically just about getting people in the Halloween fighting spirit.

Any other details I'm forgetting?

I feel like this is a good idea. You're more likely gonna get 2 people to be able to coordinate a half hour that works for them both than convince a bunch of dudes to show up at the same time and watch a whole tourney.

Yep, which is why I have no problem PM'ing (and spectating, if need be) these matches to keep track of stuff. I figure that might be the best course of action, and would allow more participation.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Awesome, guys! Let's get some more folks in here. Shall we say sign up is open until next Sunday? That gives us three weeks to play the tourney out before Halloween. I'll add confirmed participants to the second post in a bit. I'll assume if you posted here, you're in.

EDIT: Updated second post with details and such.
