Even though Odin Sphere left a bad taste in my mouth as well, I think if the slow-down went away, I'd have at least enjoyed it. If it had Co-Op, it would have been one of my favorite games on the PS2.

This is making me want to go back and finish Odin Sphere. I've been stuck at one part for a long time (I also haven't played it in over a year). When I get a PS3 this is a must-buy for me.

Was Odin Sphere that bad? I hear Odin Sphere is somewhat of a cult classic, but at the same time, I hear a lot of people have a lot of problems with the game.

It wasn't that bad, but the combat is mostly poor (very sluggish) and there are some pretty annoying systems present. The most irritating thing about the game to me is that it could have been true greatness but the gameplay ended up being more irritating than fun.

The game's getting closer to release in my part of the world. I think it came out in Japan. I'm looking forward to trying it out. I have the Vita version pre-ordered. Here's gameplay:

For me, the problem I had with the combat was certain characters had moves with a very long, uncancellable animation. This becomes more of a problem when enemies might or might not experience hitstun, depending on how the game was feeling. So very frequently I found myself in the middle of my attack chain and realize the enemy isn't being stunned and is going to counter attack and I can't do anything about it.

That and Belial. The PS2 cannot handle the Belial fights at a decent framerate.

^Yeah, I know right?

Here's a video with the amazon and a boss fight

I think it's hilarious how exaggerated the character designs are. I'm surprised some people got so upset. It's more funny to me than exploitative. How can you really take that seriously?

No crossplay.

I will be downloading the Vita version. But I'll also get the PS3 version if anyone wants to play online w/ me. I know that we will be able to transfer data between the two platforms.
