It's not amazing, but I love the Mega Drive version of Golden Axe. Was the first game I ever beat.

Golden Axe isn't amazing, but I wouldn't dub it "crap".

Of course, I also have a soft spot for Altered Beast, so grain of salt and all that.

Well, what I meant, of course, is that the PC Engine version of Golden Axe is a horrific port that will scar all of your senses.

Agreed with that. I was more referring to Bone's statement than yours. If only there were a tool on this message board that could make that clear! ;)

Hey, you calling me a tool?

It's OK. I deserve it. I am indeed a simple implement for performing manual labor.

Who doesn't? Altered Beast, Ghouls n' Ghosts, and Golden Axe were my introduction to the Genesis. Still love them, even though I suck at every single installment of Ghouls n' Ghosts outside of Super.

It's the port I'm most interested in. I watched the videos on youtube and it seems really fast and fun.

Outrun looked okay but watching it in comparison to the Genesis version it seems some iconic effects like the sunset are missing.

Space Harrier is always very cheap to pick up and I've always enjoyed it's aesthetics. I think the only real flaw is that lack of gradient surfaces.
